Ten for Ten: Honoring a Decade of Impact

The CUNY School of Public Health Foundation proudly hosted its inaugural Alumni Excellence Awards Dinner on November 19, 2025, in the Flatiron District of Manhattan. The event, titled “Ten for Ten: Honoring a Decade of Impact,” celebrated the achievements of ten outstanding CUNY SPH alumni whose leadership, service, and innovation have advanced public health across New York City and beyond.

The 2025 awardees represent diverse fields of public health practice, research, and advocacy:

  • Helen Arteaga, PhD – CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, championing health equity and hospital innovation.
  • Daryle M. Campbell-Blackstock, PhD, MPH, PA-C, CCTC – Director of Clinical Transplant Operations at NewYork-Presbyterian, advancing equity in transplant care.
  • Athena Huckaby, MPH – Harm reduction advocate and community organizer in New Mexico, expanding access to opioid use disorder treatment.
  • Pavan Lohia, MPH – Founder & CEO of PavLyfe Healthcare, integrating technology and public health strategy globally.
  • Tala Mansi, MPH – Senior advisor at NYC DOHMH, embedding racial equity in emergency preparedness.
  • Jose Mazariego, MPH – Doctoral fellow at CUNY SPH, researching immigrant health equity.
  • Radhika Sood, MPH – Senior director of data analytics at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, advancing data-driven impact.
  • Allison Sosna, MPH – Food systems leader and consultant, innovating Food as Medicine programs.
  • Thinh Toan Vu, PhD – Research scientist at NYC DOHMH, focusing on integrated care models for underserved communities.
  • Ashley Womble, MPH – National leader in mental health communications, crisis response, and telehealth innovation.
